Lokstack / Support
How can we help?
Quick answers below. If you're stuck, write to the developer and you'll get a real reply.
Using Lokstack
Why can't I see a process's output?
A process prints to the window that started it. Use Restart in Lokstack on the Run & logs tab and its output appears in the app.
"Permission denied" when stopping a process
The process belongs to another user, for example Herd's root-owned Nginx. Stop it with sudo or from its own app.
"Node.js was not found"
On Intel Macs install Node.js 18 or newer from nodejs.org. Apple Silicon builds include Node.js.
The Docker section is empty
Start Docker Desktop or OrbStack from the button on the page and wait about 20 seconds.
A project is missing from the sidebar
Add its parent folder under Installed tools → Project folders, or use Add in the sidebar.
Where are my settings stored?
In ~/.stackpilot. Deleting that folder clears saved commands and settings only. It never deletes your projects, starts a new trial or turns Pro on.
Installing
macOS says the app can't be opened
Until Lokstack is notarized by Apple, macOS may ask you to confirm the first launch. On macOS 15 or newer open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway. On macOS 13 or 14 right-click the app and choose Open.
Which macOS versions work?
macOS 13 Ventura or newer. See Download for details.
Licence and trial
How do I start the trial?
Open Lokstack Pro in the sidebar and choose Start 14-day trial. No card is needed.
Can I try the trial again?
The trial is once per Mac and can't be restarted from the app. Free keeps working with no time limit.
How many Macs can I activate?
One person, up to 3 Macs. The key is re-checked every 7 days and Pro keeps working for 30 days offline.
